There are several different types of battles that can be started:

  1. Normal - No special rules, just a standard battle. Best result wins.
  2. One-life - A race, best result with a single attempt wins.
  3. First finish - The one who needs the least amount of time from the start of the battle to finish the level wins.
  4. Slowness - The one who finishes with the slowest time wins.
  5. Survivor - The one who can stay alive the longest without dying or finishing wins.
  6. 1 Hour TT - The one who gets best total time in the internal levels in 1 hour wins.

There will be even more battle types in Elma Online.

There are also several restrictions, called cripples, that you can apply to any battle:

  1. Hide others - You can force everyone to be hidden in the battle.
  2. No-Turn - The turn key (default being the Space) is disabled.
  3. No-Volt - The volt keys (default being the left/right arrows and the alovolt key) are disabled.
  4. No-Throttle - The gas key (default being the up arrow) is disabled.
  5. No-Brake - The break key (default being the down arrow) is disabled.
  6. Always Throttle - You always throttle and cannot brake.
