People in the community give their favoured suggestions to who should be nominated in the different categories in the proper GAA thread on Mopolauta. The jury members will choose ten candidates to each category according to their experience and knowledge. They will be also reading the community's suggestions.

Now we have top10 for each category available and again the community can vote. The criteria for being allowed to vote are: well-known player (decided by the jury) and the player has posted some suggestions in the first step (so we see that he has been active during the whole process) or he doesn't have to be well-known if he posted a nice suggestion list with reasonable arguments. These limits are set for getting more appropriate votes. People don't have to vote in every category but if they do vote in some category they must pick their top5 and not just top1 or top3.

'''Fourth step:'''<br \>
 +
The jury will collect the top5 for each category according absolutely to the community votes. The point system will be as follows: 5 points to every first position, 4 points to every second position etc. This will be the top5 to be used in the final show.

'''Fifth step:'''<br \>
 +
The different jury members will vote over the different categories, and the community will also give 2 votes to the candidate who got most points in the third step, and 1 vote to the candidate who got the second-most points. The different jury members' votes will not be public. In the event of a tie, the candidate who got most points from community in the third step will win. If there still is a tie, the one who got most 5 points will win, then 4 points etc. If the winner cannot be resolved by this, the jury will come together and discuss the matter to declare a winner.

Latest revision as of 13:20, 17 October 2012

Preparations began with SveinR and Abula again assembling a new jury. A few changes from the previous GAA were made, though not as extensive changes as the transition from GAA03 to GAA04. The categories were again altered a bit: LGR category out, Contest in. Also the requirements for the Site category got changed: rather than being an award for simply the best site, it got changed to an award for the site that has improved the most and changed it relevancy the most during the GAA period. A minor change was the addition of descriptions to the nominees in the Contribution category.

The voting process from the previous GAA got changed a bit. First to fourth steps stayed same but in the fifth step the community now gives out 3 votes in each category as opposed to only one before: 2 points to the nominee that got the most community votes in the third step, and 1 point to the nominee that got the second-most votes. In the event of a draw, the nominee who got most points in the third step will win. If there still is a tie, the one who has gotten most 5 points will win, and so on.

The show was held on IRCnet #gaa in 15. January 2006 at 20:00 EET and the GAA period was from December 2004 to 15th December 2005. SveinR presented the three first categories, then the other jury members presented two categories each, before SveinR presented the final one. After one category was presented, the jury would vote, and the jury member presenting the category would name the winner. Neither the jury votes or the community votes were public because of some bad reactions that occured during and after the GAA04 show. The winner would get voiced and make a speech.

The prizes were ultimately meant to be the same as in GAA04, but because of money shortcomings they have not been possible to make and give out. Donations help.

8. Multi WR, Stini & Stini:
Hard to come up with anything to say, but we'd like to thank everyone voting for us, our team (especially TorInge for publishing his and Cubein's rec), our precious KeyTronic <3 and of course our girlfriend, who lives so far away that we had time to make this WR :). To be honest, winning this category was a surprise for both of us and we are really flattered that our WR is valued so high. There were a lot of amazing WRs nominated in this category, so even being nominated was an big honour - not to mention winning it. This WR is dedicated to all the lonely players, who don't have anyone to play with when it comes to multi. You are not alone. Thank you once again and keep on höyling! And one thing that you should always remember: Totti is cute.

9. Style, Axxu:
Thats hot, cha cha

10. Replay, Jalli:
Dunno what to say really. Thanks to everyone for voting for me. But please, don't ever and I mean ever, say "pie" when meaning pipe. PLEASE! Hopefully I'll be at FEM06 to recieve the award... Peace out. I pwn. (And always remember that Jaytea and Sierra are nothing but two spoiled brats ;))
