Disobeying the rules will get you a warning or ban in that particular category. This means you can have multiple warnings at once in different categories. Some minor offenses might be overlooked the first couple of times, but serious offenses will give immediate bans without warnings. The banning tiers are as follows. The 2 week ban is repeatable which means that minor offenses won't make you jump to the 1 year tier of ban. Website offenses will result in playing bans.

1st time: Warning

2nd time: 1 week ban

(*)
In extreme cases these can give an immediate one year or even permanent ban.

Final word
The admins always have the final word, however if you feel you're being treated unjustly, you can send a ban appeal and another admin will look at it. Serious cases will always be discussed in the admin group.

Starting battles
When you register you do not have rights to start battles. This is for you to learn what a battle is before starting one, and to avoid new players accidentally starting one. To get battle rights you currently need to contact a mod, the easiest way is using the discord and finding someone with the eolmod role.

Types
There are three types of battle starting rights. You can have multiple at once.
* Normal (Normal, One-life, First Finish, Slowness, Survivor, Last Counts, Finish-count, Crippled, 1-60 minutes duration)
* Special (1 hour TT, Flag Tag, Apple, Speed, Drunk, Apple Bugs, Multi)
* Long (65-180 minutes duration)

Requirements
Requirements to obtain battle rights are put in place to make sure you understand how to use them. Exceptions can be made if this can be verified otherwise.
* Normal: Play five battles, ask a mod.
* Special: Start five battles, ask a mod.
* Long: Start 50 battles, ask a mod.

Guidelines
Since battles are started serially using a queue, starting a battle affects what people can play and how much room there is for others to start battles. Don't let that stop you, just keep it in mind when starting many battles, especially special and long battles. Long battles over 60 minutes are recommended to not be started more than once a week and to be preannounced in discord or mopolauta. Long battles are still new and experimental, rights may be taken away so you have to ask again.
Kopakahttp://wiki.elmaonline.net/index.php?title=Rules&diff=43146Rules2023-05-17T20:48:45Z
Kopaka:

The whole point of playing the game online is to battle against each other, speedrunning through a level finding the best possible tricks to achieve faster and faster times. Therefore we need levels, plenty of them. On a regular day, over thirty battles are played in Elma Online, so everyone is welcome to make levels. However, there is a certain level designing etiquette (also known as common sense) in Elma Online that we want everyone to follow!

startballe.exe
With this program you can start a battle. There might be a battle on, but don't worry, there is a queue (max one level per user allowed in the queue). If something goes wrong, you can ask moderators to abort your battle, preferably before the battle has started, if possible. Note that the appearance of startballe.exe depends on what rights you have. For example, you're not able to abort battles if you don't have aborting right.

Before you start a battle
Always be careful about the level you are starting. Test the level to make sure all jumps etc. are possible and all apples reachable. Make sure you put the start object back in its place after testing if you have moved it around. Don't forget any apples or killers. Make sure there aren't any hangs or rollercoasters with too narrow parts.

There are many types of battles that you can start. The most common and favored battle is a regular hidden ("see others" unchecked) battle on an external level. Never start a battle on an old level, this is the most important thing about starting battles. The whole point is that nobody should know the level in advance.
Kopakahttp://wiki.elmaonline.net/index.php?title=Recplayer&diff=43068Recplayer2022-11-20T15:34:05Z
Kopaka: Created page with "== Keyboard shortcuts == {| class="wikitable" |- !
On this page you can see the battle rankings and which are the best players and teams.

Ranking
This is an ELO based ranking updated after each battle. A battle is considered as X number of matches, one of each player in the battle you either beat or lose to. Using this formula:

b = 800

r1 (Opponents ranking)

r2 (Your ranking)

r (updated ranking)

k = 3 for overall, 3 for yearly, 10 for monthly, 16 for weekly, 16 for daily

e (expected result) = 1 / (1 + 10 ^ ((r1 - r2) / b)

In matches you win:

r = r + (k * (1 - e))

In matches you lose:

r = r + (k * (0 - e))

Wins
Wins is quite simply the amount of times a player has won a battle.

Exp. Points
Battle Experience Points is the point system used for battles and mopobattles etc. back in the day. You get one point per player you beat plus 1, and plus 1 if you won the battle.

Designed
Designed is the amount of battles the player has started.

Played
Played is the total amount of battle the player has participated in

Requirements
You must have an original copy of Elasto Mania to install EOL. You may order the game from the Elasto Mania homepage. You may play the game offline, but of course you would like to have an internet connection for the full potential of the game.

Actually, the only files from Elma you need are: Elma.res (version 1.2), Lev, Rec, and LGR folders, plus the default LGR file (or any other LGR renamed to default.lgr) in the LGR folder.

Installation
You can always get the newest EOL version from the Official Elma Online Site. Direct download link for the newest version: http://elmaonline.net/dl/EOL.zip.

To extract the .zip file you require software such as winzip. The installation is rather simple, you extract all the files in the .zip into your Elasto Mania folder.

A backup copy of Elasto Mania folder doesn't hurt, in case something goes wrong.

Make sure your Elma.res file has been updated to version 1.2, then run ResEdit.exe, click "Import pack" and "OK" to import the new font(s) into the Elma.res file.

Connecting
First of all you need to register on the Elma Online site. To connect to the server you must open the eolconf.exe file and insert information such as your nick, password (the same as you used to register on the site) and the server IP address. The default IP address might be wrong, but you may always find the correct IP from this page or the channel #battle on IRCNet.

Current IP: 161.35.35.82
* Default ground/sky: When enabled, the names of ground and sky textures will be ignored in level files and default ones will be used.
* Still food: When enabled, apples and flowers will not hover up and down when playing (note that this doesn't disable the rotating animation).
* Replay saving reminder: When enabled, you will be prompted to save your replay if you make a best time in a level and try to exit the "Play again" -menu in some way. You'll be only prompted once.
* Pictures in background: When enabled, the pictures will always be behind kuski when playing.
* Edit locked levs: When enabled, you are able to edit locked levels with the ingame editor.
* Center map: When enabled, kuski will be in the middle of the minimap. Otherwise kuski is on the left/right side of the map according to where he is facing.
* Force vsync off: Disables vertical synchronization, which means that the FPS is not limited to screen refresh rate (usually 60 FPS).
* Sorting off: Disables replay/level list sorting. If your external level list/replay list loads slowly, you can try to enable this option.
* Map align: Sets how the minimap is shown in the screen. If you choose None, the minimap will fly on the other side of the screen when turning.
* FPS limit: Sets a limit for FPS. Minimum FPS is 30.
* Capture FPS: Sets the FPS for capturing frames from replay (F1+Enter to start capturing).
* Chat lines: Number of chat lines shown ingame.

Patch
* Save settings: Saves the changes you have made to eol.exe file. Make sure you're able to write to eol.exe (EOL is not running and eol.exe isn't read-only) when you press this button.

Direct download link for newest version (5th August): http://elmaonline.net/dl/EOL.zip.

The default IP-address might be wrong, you may always find the correct IP from this page or the channel #battle on IRCNet.

Current IP: 67.205.61.41

Example of settings in eolconf:

Versions 1.0 - 1.11hb
Updating to 1.11hb from any earlier version is very easy, simply download the new version and replace the Elma.exe.

Version 1.11h and 1.11hb also has an extra exe file you can copy to your Elma folder and use it to configure certain aspects of Elma.exe.

Version 1.2
This version requires a little more work to install:

# Download from http://www.elmaonline.net/dl/elma12.zip
# Extract the zip into your Elma folder
# There should now be a subfolder called Res including the files: A13.LEB, add.inf, DESCLIST.TXT and Intro12.pcx.
# Run ResEdit.exe (in Elma folder) and press the button "Import Pack", then "Ok" and "Yes". The Elma.res file has now been updated to version 1.2.
# You can now delete the Res folder.
Disobeying the rules will get you a warning or ban in that particular category. This means you can have multiple warnings at once in two different categories.

The term internal refers to one of the 54 default levels that come with the game, and finishing and improving them can be considered to be the main objective of the game. Some of the levels have been played ever since the release of Action Supercross in 1997, therefore the world record times and rides are getting closer to perfection or insanition.

On the cup page you can see results and standings for cups, as well as download levels and upload replays.

How to play cups
If you want to participate in a cup, the only thing you have to do is to play the level of current event online in EOL. Your time will automatically be added to the results once the event deadline is over. However if you win the event it is required that you also upload your replay. You can upload replays during the event from the cup page, which is recommended even if you don't think you are gonna win, so that others can see different styles etc. Uploaded replays won't be shared until the event is over. If you win and haven't yet uploaded your replay, you have 24 hours after the deadline to do so.

Note that for some cups such as World Cup 6 replay uploading is required by all.

tl:dr version: Play online. If you win, upload replay.

Hiding of times
During an event the given level will have its "Hidden" flag turned on. This means that the shift+F5 (Best Times) list is disabled and times are not shown on EOL site either for that level. The times you drive will still show on F7 (Recent Times) list, unless you drive hidden (Shift+F1) in which case your times are not shown on F7. Note that your times will still be visible on F7 to yourself, but they are not shown to others if you are hidden. If you are shown only to team, team members can see times on F7 etc.

tl:dr version: Play hidden and other won't see your times anywhere.

Adding events for admins
1. Play level in EOL locked (turn lock new levels on in eolconf.exe).

2. Click on admin under your cup's page.

3. In top right corner search box, select right most radio button and search for the level.

4. Copy the index number, backspace the search so you get back to admin page.

5. Put the number in level index under add event, add start and deadline and designer, remember it's in server's timezone (UTC-8).

Kopakahttp://wiki.elmaonline.net/index.php?title=Website_Help:_Cups&diff=28754Website Help: Cups2013-08-21T12:05:32Z
Kopaka:
